How to Do a Blog Post Correctly
The question of how to do a blog post so that it is completely optimized for the search engines comes up frequently.
I certainly thought that I knew how to do it, after all I am an internet marketer and have posts ranked on Google. Well surprise, surprise last night on the first of the six webinars in the ‘15K Per Month Formula’ I learned that I only knew part of the answer.
This program only has people doing the training who are,
not only in the Empower Network, but excel at whatever is the particular topic for that specific webinar… Very cool. Some are veterans in the marketing game and some are not, but they ALL have had success; major success. So I listened and took notes.
Anyway, back to how to do a blog post
Tracey Walker nailed me to the wall by basically telling me that I didn’t really know how to best optimize a post. To be fair, she didn’t of course actually do that, but it felt like it. It seemed like she was speaking directly to me, especially when she said, “write this down” with such authority that I had no choice but to write it down.
She said it twice during her presentation and I obeyed each time.
Most of us know that to optimize a post that the use of “H tags” is beneficial. What I didn’t know that it is best to use all three H1, H2, and H3 tags somewhere in the post using the keyword phrase each time. My practice had always been to only use H2 or H3 tags, but certainly not all three.
I wrote it down!!
She also emphasized that it is important to use the keyword in the first sentence of the post AND in the last sentence. And of course sprinkle the keyword phrase throughout the article/post so that the density is at least 1%.
This I already knew, but I wrote it down.
Needless to say, the keyword phrase must also be part of the title and it is best if it is the first part of the title. Tracey pointed out several other things about how to do a blog post, but I can’t reveal everything here. But I can tell you one thing…
I wrote them down!
Tracey wasn’t the only trainer on the webinar as Kris Darty and Stephanie Deneke also shared their knowledge and expertise. If you think David Wood is “out there” you might want to catch Kris. He may be as long winded as David (hard to believe) but his information was right on.
How to Do a Blog Post Correctly
Between Kris and Stephanie I learned that to create compelling content you simply have to be you. Let your personality show and don’t be afraid to put yourself out there for people to see.
So don’t have huge blocks of text. Use white space and a picture to help make the post pleasing to the eye.
It makes it more readable.
This webinar was just the first of a series. I took three pages of notes and thought I already knew the subject! One thing is certain happen when the series resumes and the next set of trainers speak to us…
I will write it down!!
