Primerica Review: A Closer Look
Clients: Primerica’s goal is to help middle-income American families get out of debt and grow their income, much the same as many other financial institutions. The unique thing about this company is how they sell their services. When you contact Primerica, a representative will come to your home (or another meeting place) and counsel you on how to solve your finance problems or make the most of what you have. They will, of course, suggest that you use their insurance options and investment opportunities.
Representatives: If you know someone who has worked for Primerica or if you allow a Primerica representative to meet with concerning your own financial needs, there is a
good chance that they will ask you if you would interested in becoming a Primerica counselor. You can also apply for this position by going to the website. For a $200 one-time fee, they will give you all the training and equipment you need to begin meeting with clients yourself and selling Primerica insurance and investments.
Primerica Review: Fees and Guarantees
Clients: As with most financial institutions, there are no guarantees for growth. Likewise, the company does not list prices for their services online. The nature of the business precludes this, as they encourage you to meet with their representatives in order to receive a personalized quote.
Representatives: The fee to begin working with Primerica is $200. They make no guarantees as to how much you will earn with them. As with many of these types of opportunities, the pay structure is based on commission and so your success depends wholly on your ability to gain new clients. They provide you with a quality product and leave it to you to do the work of selling it.
Is Primerica a Scam?
Clients: There doesn’t seem to be a problem with Primerica’s services. They are owned by CitiBank, have been in business since 1977, and maintain good standing with the Better Business Bureau.
Many people have complained that their representatives have not performed according to their expectations, often causing them to make poor financial decisions. If you trust your representative, there does not seem to be a problem using Primerica’s insurance of investing through their financial services.
Representatives: There have been a few representatives who have claimed that the company scammed them by making them pay $200, but then did not give them adequate training or sales leads. Other representatives have been very successful selling for Primerica. If you are thinking of working with the company, just understand that the burden for learning and gaining new clients is on you.
